    We are seeking a highly skilled Cost Operations Analyst for a private equity (PE) owned, growth-focused, leading provider of pallet management services that currently generates approximately $150MM in annual revenues. Currently headquartered in the Rockford, IL region, this company services customers across the U.S. as well as parts of Canada and Mexico.

    BASIC FUNCTIONS:

    • Directly support the VP – Operations with reporting, analysis and execution of operational improvement initiatives. 
      • Primary focus on detailed analytics, driving cost containment and margin improvement initiatives.
    • Manage and analyze financial reporting data, with a focus on providing timely, accurate and actionable results.
    • Work with executive management to implement / monitor identified initiatives, identify profitability improvement opportunities, and identify process improvement opportunities.
    • Responsible for various day to day accounting functions.

    Responsibilities

    • Build and analyze financial and costing models (ex. margin analysis, BOM standard vs. actual, profitability by customer, product profitability, job costing and reconciliation, etc.)
    • Development, management and analysis of automated KPI dashboard and data collection tools
    • Track productivity and help implement labor controls
      • Partner with the operations team to Identify workflow/system improvements, and the drive the needed change
    • Describe requirements in workflow diagram, study system capabilities, evaluate solutions, write programs, etc. 
    • Support Plant with Sales/Pricing analysis
    • Work with executive management to review job responsibilities and alter employee and departmental tasks based on company needs
    • Support Accounting team with month-end variance analysis, balance sheet account reconciliations, preparation of various journal entries, forecasts including risks and opportunities, etc.
    • Deliver a monthly report to management on industry trends and how the company should react to maximize those trends
    • Identifies project requirements by interviewing customers; analyzing operations; determining project scope; documenting results; preparing customer contracts
    • When necessary, document transaction and process flows to communicate current processes and provide recommendations on improvements to these processes.
    • Proven problem-solving skills and experience with manual data review and reconciliation

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in business / economics
    • MBA would be a plus
    • Eight to ten years of hands-on manufacturing – operational analysis experience.
    • 5+ years in a Cost Accounting / Operations Analyst role in a process manufacturing environment.   
    • NetSuite ERP Experience – desired
    • Experience with inter-team workflows
    • Experience with process improvement/system enhancements
    • Exceptional Spreadsheet skills (Pivot Tables, VLookups)
    • Strong attention to detail

    Work Conditions:

    • Warehouse Office Environment – may move to a Corporate office setting in the near future
    • Occasional heavy workload
    • Minimal Travel requirements
